Each Dr Pierre Herbal Skincare product is personally formulated and tested by Dr. Pierre Chenxu, who entered the beauty industry in 1976. After a few years in the industry, he realized that many cosmetics and skincare manufacturers as well as marketers were manipulating and taking advantage of consumers with empty promises and false claims.

Concluding that such a practice is unacceptable, he established Charis Natural Lab in 1983, in Singapore to research, develop and manufacture a range of effective skincare products based solely on the goodness and efficacies of herbal ingredients.  He allowed the products to speak for themselves and resisted from spending excessively on glossy packaging or celebrity endorsed advertisements.

This philosophy has remained true to this day where the customer has become the company's official spokesperson; testimonial to the large core base of loyal and satisfied customers from Australia, Canada, France Germany, Greece, Hong King. Kuwait, Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan United Kingdom and the Untied States of America.  The company's hard work was finally recognized when it was awarded the prestigious International Europe Award for Quality in 1993 and 1995.  These are followed with the International Award for the Best Trade Name and Commercial Prestige Award in 1997 and 2000 respectively.

Product development and improvement remains the top priority at Charis Natural Lab, the R& D arm of Dr Pierre Chenxu Herbal Cosmeceuticals.  It is here where all Pierre Chenxu products are concocted and formulated, tried and tested to very stringent hygiene and quality standards.  With the belief that the best. only work wiith the best, Dr Chenxu and his team take extra care to ensure that only top-notch quality ingredients are permitted for the making of any Pierre Chenxu products.  In order to meet the Pierre Chenxu standards, a quality product has to be stable in extreme temperatures without separation problems, possesses the right viscosity and texture and is totally natural with efficacious herbal properties, yielding fast positive results.

No effort is spared in testing any formulations. From subjecting the respective formulas to extreme temperatures, to narrowing the concocted concentrations, right through to conducting actual trials on volunteers and customers, no stone is left unturned by Dr. Pierre Chenxu and his team.  Even when a new formula is sent for production, a very stringent bacteria colony count is done before products are packaged.  Only when confidence is on full steam would the product be sold, and the goodness be shared with Dr. Pierre Chenxu's valued customers.

OUR ACHIEVEMENTS INCLUDE:

1983: 1st to Research, Develop and Manufacture a wide range of Herbal Skin Care & Treatment Products for skin flaws such as Seborrhoea, Pigmentation, Acnes, etc..., when every other company was still importing and marketing products without a clear understanding on their suitability.

1st to Develop and Manufacture Eye Gel and Face Gel long before they became popular now.

1st to Develop and Manufacture Facial Scrubs using smooth spherical POE soft beads in mild oil-in-water emulsion base, instead of using the conventional coarse pumice sand or almond husk grains in harsh strong soap base. (See picture below)

1st to Develop and Manufacture a range of Professional Tailor-make Active Massage Creams and Active Masks using Active Fluids made from herbal extracts for treating skin problems.

1st to Develop and Manufacture Anti-UV Day Creams, Foundations and Lotions for daily use, when other companies still believed that Anti-UV action is only for sunscreen products for beach applications.

1984 1st to introduce and conduct Courses for Professional and Character Makeup for stage, TV and movies. In a national makeup contest, all four of our students who participated came in 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th positions respectively.

1990 1st to Develop and Manufacture the talk-of-the-town Wondergel, the first safe, convenient and painless Blackhead Remover Gel (now known as Exfoliating Gel), which has attracted the attention of more than ten Malaysian and Singapore medias including one popular French Beauty Magazine to write more than 30 articles concerning Pierre Chenxu Wondergel.
